Parents Stand with Children who have laptops and wireless modems in handIn the wake of the statewide order to close all schools in Washington, Lopez Island School District has been developing new ways to support students while they are at home. Starting this week, K-5 students will be allowed to take home internet connected devices if they contact the school's technology department.

For the past two years, Rock Island has been providing wireless LTE modems and internet service for LISD students who are in need, free of charge. They are now expanding their efforts during this crisis to provide internet service to any student who signs up. Students will still need a Lopez School device to receive the free Rock Island service and only the district provided device will be allowed to connect to the LTE modem.

To get a device, please contact Jesse Hammond at or 360.468.2202 x2109
