Citizen Advisory Committee Report
In 2021, a Lopez Island Citizen Advisory Committee was formed to "present strategic strategic options for the Lopez Island School District for consideration by the LISD Board." The committee was tasked with examining four strategic scenarios for the District: 1) Maintain the K-12 School on Lopez; 2) Convert to a K-8 School; 3) Consolidate the LISD with another district; and 4) Creation of a Charter School. They presented their findings to the school board in June of 2021.

LISD Strategic Plan
The Lopez Island School Districted initiated a Strategic Plan in 2023. This plan provides a roadmap for achieving our goals and objectives as well a defining how we measure success. Progress updates on the implementation of the Strategic Plan are reported at the school board meetings.
School Improvement Plans
A school improvement plan outlines the highest priority school improvement goals for that year. Goals are are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, time-bound, inclusive, and equitable. The action plan for each goal includes the activities, time-frame, point people, needed resources, and the measures used to evaluate improvement.
