Parent Partner Program

Partnering with Parents to Support All Kids

At Lopez School District, we are dedicated to educating all children. While our primary role is in the classroom, we know that some students thrive in alternative settings and offer the Parent Partner Program to support parents who educate their children at home.

A certificated teacher coordinates our Parent Partner Program, helping parents establish teaching goals, link the home learning environment to public school resources and develop a custom learning plan to meet Washington State educational requirements. As a consultant, the teacher can supply textbooks, assist with curriculum questions, connect home-based parents and children, and help organize neighborhood co-op learning groups.

All of these services are free to Washington state residents. Participating families also receive a stipend for educational materials. While parents and students are invited to visit campus as often as they like, living nearby is not a prerequisite. In fact, some partners live hundreds of miles away. The key to a successful partnership is connection and support, and whether we’re in touch by phone or in person, we look forward to providing excellent academic resources, reassurance and technical help for our Parent Partner families.
